San Antonio Coffee Shops | April 2025

Image
It's my birthday month and I'm back with more coffee shops that you should check out in San Antonio!  Folklores Coffee House  ☕ 106 Michigan Ave, San Antonio, TX 78201 I found Folklores because I needed a coffee shop close to where I needed to meet up for a work event and I'm glad I stopped by! Folklores is a small coffee shop filled with gothy. new wave posters and shares a space with a charcutier business. There are a few tables to sit at, but each table is pretty big, so you can bring a group of people or have a mom coffee date like the people sitting in front of me were doing. Speaking of, they have a whole table of stuff for kids, which I appreciate as a new parent.  The coffee collection is small but mighty. I got a latte and was very happy with my pic. If you need a little pick-me up and maybe some nice cheese, stop on by Folklores. They also cater! 💻  https://folklorescoffeehouse.square.site/ Zen Haus ☕  119 Heiman St #200, San Antonio, TX 78205 ...

San Antonio Coffee Shops of the Month | November

Image
Poppy's Coffee House  ☕ 6417 Evers Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238 Poppy's Coffee House is a cute little (but kind of big) coffee shop in the Leon Valley area. It was actually at a place that my husband and I used to frequent but sadly didn't survive after the pandemic (RIP Leon Valley Cafe 😭). This coffee shop is located inside a n actual house and is decorated in Snoopy memorabilia (which we LOVE), along with knitted cup holders, groovy colors, and different types of seating. There are fun coffee's, teas, and other drinks to try along with some great pastries. The last time I visited, I ordered a cheese and spinach pastry with a nice cold green tea with honey. Simple, I know, but I did try their strawberry acai refresher and I wasn't a fan, mainly because it has sparkling water and I'm just not into sparkling water. Other than, I love this spot and it's a newer spot that you should visit sometime soon. 💻 https://poppyscafe.net/ Shotgun House Coffee Roaste...

October Coffee Shops of the Month | San Antonio

Image
Hey Ya'll! I'm happy to be back with another list of coffee shops or you to try this month! I'm getting in all my coffee shop time right now as I will be a new mom in just about 5 more weeks, give or take, and I'm not sure how much time I will have to go out to coffee shops, at least for the following couple of months. Anyways, it's fall!! Kind of. Doesn't feel like it, but here in Texas, we like to pretend. Gravves Coffee ☕ 2106 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78212 If you're looking for something a little more goth to grab your coffee, you've come to the right place. Gravves Coffee offers a great selection of fun coffee concotions, including their Elixir drink that is purple because it's made with ube! They also now offer affogato, which is coffee and ice cream and something I've discovered in other places, but not really here in the San Antonio area.  As far as the space, it's in a good size warehouse, which I love. The bathroom is cl...

September Coffee Shops of the Month | San Antonio

Image
Hey Ya'll! Thanks for coming back and checking out some awesome coffee shops around the San Antonio area. If you're new, welcome! I usually write book reviews, or book talks as I call them, and sometimes random thoughts, but I just started this coffee series, so we'll see how it grows and expands. Without further ado, here are three coffee shops you should visit this month and any other month in San Antonio.    Sip & Sit With Me Coffee House ☕  3244 Mission Rd, San Antonio, TX 78214   I was on the southside of town for work and afterward, I was looking for a cold drink. I looked up some spots and this cute little shop popped up, so I decided to give it a try. It was a hot day, so I'm glad that as soon as I walked in, there was cold air blowing in the little house-turned-coffee shop. From upon entry, the baristas were very welcoming, and even though I got a cold Jasmine Blossom tea, I was surprised to see so many syrups to choose from your coffee (and I gues...

Coffee Shops You Should Visit in San Antonio | August 2024

Image
Hey Ya'll! So during one of the nights that I woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep, I thought to myself, "Hmm, maybe I should do a little coffee shop series on my blog." If you don't follow me on social media, then you probably don't know that I go to a lot of coffee shops around town and frequently post them. There's a certain comfort that coffee shops bring to me and it's one of those little joys in life that I treat myself to almost once a week. What do I do at these coffee shops? Work, write, read, and enjoy being out around the town.  Anyway, here are a few coffee shops you should check out this month in no particular order.   Bright Coffee  ☕  1705 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78212 Bright coffee is an art hub, a community gathering spot, and a place to grab some coffee, tea, and giant pastries in the morning. I discovered Bright Coffee one day when I was looking for coffee shops and I've been coming back ever since. They have a nice ...

Rainy Thoughts: First House!

Image
Hello everyone! I'm pleased to announce that my husband and I are officially new homeowners as of Valentine's Day! Not gonna lie, I felt a little nervous about the whole signing my life away, but it was quick, easy and I felt no pressure when looking through our documents. First Time Homeowner We haven't actually moved into our home yet. Our lease at our current townhome isn't up until the end of March and we have a few updates that we are doing to get our home ready for us. Makes me a little anxious, but I'm so ready to move in and for our cat to move in. He's going to love it! Being a homeowner feels freaking fantastic! My husband and I enjoy walking around neighborhoods and one of the things that I always wondered was what house were we going to be in? Would it be slanted? Would it be new or old? Would it be squared and would it have brick? It's crazy to think that part of my life is over, but I'm very happy with our end result. When You...

Rainy Thoughts: Moving Back to My Hometown

Image
Yep. I moved back home! I think my first rainy thoughts was on being homesick, but now I'm back and I can already tell that I am right where I'm supposed to be. So, I wanted to write a few words about being away and moving back home. Let's go! Being Away From Home Being away from home means doing everything on your own. Of course, with technology, you can easily skype, text, call or facetime with people, but it's just not the same. If I had a problem with my car, I was the one looking up places to go, reviews, etc. I was the one deciding what I wanted to eat, what I wanted to do every day and how long I wanted to go without washing the dishes (I actually really don't like falling asleep with the dishes in the sink).  Being away means learning more about who you are. Like with the dishes, I learned that I prefer my chicken baked, that I am good at entertaining myself and that I actually like doing crafts and arranging flowers. Would I have learned that...

Rainy Thoughts: Los Spurs

Image
I happen to write these blogs when it rains or when it looks like it's going to rain. It's nice and kind of suspicious. Anyways, if you're into basketball, then you know that the Spurs lost last night to the Golden State Warriors. At the end of the game, everyone cheered and shouted for Manu Ginobli. He has played with the Spurs since he was drafted in 1999. Even though the Golden State was ahead, everyone appreciated Manu for all the years he contributed to his team. It's being speculated that this will be his last season, but it's still not been confirmed. Either way, those people in the arena, and those people posting about Manu and how they're still spurs fans, those are real fans. If you don't know Spurs fans, then you don't know real dedication, as you can see in the pictures below. Spurs wedding. Courtesy of Spurs Twitter account. Spurs quinceanera.
