October Coffee Shops of the Month | San Antonio

Hey Ya'll! I'm happy to be back with another list of coffee shops or you to try this month! I'm getting in all my coffee shop time right now as I will be a new mom in just about 5 more weeks, give or take, and I'm not sure how much time I will have to go out to coffee shops, at least for the following couple of months. Anyways, it's fall!! Kind of. Doesn't feel like it, but here in Texas, we like to pretend.

Gravves Coffee

2106 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78212

If you're looking for something a little more goth to grab your coffee, you've come to the right place. Gravves Coffee offers a great selection of fun coffee concotions, including their Elixir drink that is purple because it's made with ube! They also now offer affogato, which is coffee and ice cream and something I've discovered in other places, but not really here in the San Antonio area.

As far as the space, it's in a good size warehouse, which I love. The bathroom is clean and there's a good amount of natural light coming in. My only gripe is that there are no savory pastries/snacks, but their sweet pastries look great and if I'm in a sweet mood next time, I'll give them a try.

Merit Coffee

7338 Louis Pasteur Dr #204, San Antonio, TX 78229

I knew Merit had more than one location, but not as many when I just googled it for the address! So this review will just be for the one with the address above, but I'm sure they all probably provide the same items.

Anyway, Merit Coffee is great. There's plenty of inside and outside seating, along with a pretty big menu to choose from. When I was last here, I got a yogurt granola bowl and some tea. For the tea, they handed me the whole pitcher of tea which I always appreciate from a place. The seating is spread out nicely with plenty of charging stations. While it's a great spot to go, it's a busy one with doctors, nurses, and students coming in and out, so it can be a little loud, so bring headphones.

Poetic Republic

2330 S Presa St, San Antonio, TX 78210

Poetic Republic has to be one of my favorite little spots in town! It has a very comfy cozy vibe with books you can read, poetry nights, and they also serve some great pastries and wine. There's not an actual parking lot, but there's plenty of spots on the side streets.

On this particular day, I ordered a blueberry latte and their prosciutto breakfast sandwhich. Both great options. It's not the biggest coffee spot, but they can accommodate quite a few people before it becomes too crowded.
